Stoic Diary ("we", "us", or "our Service") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store your information when you access or use our website and application ("Service")

Stoic Diary is a goal-setting and journaling app. The free service includes core daily use, Life Calendar, and JSON data export. Pro adds convenient access to older in-app archive views, long-term statistics, and longer diary PDF export where supported

1. Information We Collect

  • Account and authentication data, including email address, Google user ID when Google login is used, language/culture settings, and hashed one-time password codes used for email sign-in, data export, and account deletion
  • User content and settings, including daily plan templates, daily plans and items, daily focus and goals, diary entries, day ratings, goal completion, Life Calendar birth date and expected lifespan, timestamps, and PDF export jobs or files
  • Payment and Pro access data, including subscription or payment status, Paddle customer identifiers, Paddle payment or transaction identifiers, plan type, and webhook event data needed to provide paid access
  • Technical, cookie, local storage, and log data, which may include session and culture cookies, local draft or UI state, request metadata, IP address or user agent, user IDs, email addresses, Paddle webhook payload data, and public-page analytics events from Google Analytics or Yandex Metrica

2. Purposes of Data Processing

  • Authenticate users through Google login or email one-time password login, manage sessions, and protect sensitive actions such as JSON export and account deletion with email codes that expire after 10 minutes
  • Operate the diary, planning, template, Life Calendar, statistics, export, language, and profile features you choose to use
  • Process Paddle checkout results, subscription status, cancellation, pause, past-due, refund, and lifetime purchase events so the app can grant or revoke Pro access according to payment status
  • Send service emails such as OTP codes, welcome emails, free-access-ended or subscription reminder emails, and support or payment-related messages; monitor, debug, secure, and improve the Service

3. Data Storage and Security

  • We use reasonable security measures. Content fields are encrypted at rest where implemented, and access is limited to what is necessary to operate, secure, and support the Service
  • Data is transmitted securely via HTTPS
  • Server locations may vary depending on our hosting provider

4. Data Sharing

We may share or receive data with the following third parties where needed:

  • Analytics providers on public landing pages, including Google Analytics on English pages and Yandex Metrica on Russian pages
  • Paddle, which processes checkout and payments; Stoic Diary does not directly store card details, but stores payment status and identifiers needed to provide Pro access
  • Authorized government authorities, only upon lawful request

5. User Rights

You can manage your data in these ways:

  • Download a JSON copy from Profile without Pro. The export may require an email OTP and can include your email, templates, plans, diary entries, ratings, goal completion, and timestamps
  • Delete your account from Profile. Deletion may require an email OTP and removes the user account, daily plans and items, templates and items, diary entries, and settings from active database records
  • Contact support to request help with access, correction, deletion, payment, or privacy questions. Backups and logs may remain for limited operational or security needs unless removed by normal retention processes

6. Age Restrictions

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older. Users under 18 must obtain parental or guardian consent before using the Service

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website. Continued use of the Service constitutes your agreement to the updated policy
